Just a quick entry from me. Some of you already know from Twitter that Sandra's beautiful dog Jake, has been diagnosed with terminal cancer. Jake is only six and a half so it came as a dreadful shock to them.
I had a long telephone conversation with Sandra yesterday. Jake is in no pain as he is on good medication and Sandra told me that, looking at him, with his wonderful shiny coat, you would never know that anything is wrong except for the fact that he has slowed down a little. They hope he will be with them for a little while longer but they would never let him suffer.
Please call at Sandra' journal http://sandrasscribbles.blogspot.com/ and leave some words of support. We have all come to know Jake through her journal and all our pets become part of our blogging community when we write about them and post photos.
Sandra will be back with her journal when she can.

ReplyDeleteYou are right that our pets are part of our community. I did stop my her blog to let her know they were in my thoughts and prayers. That is a young dog yet. I'm glad he is in no pain. That is a blessing.

ReplyDeleteSuch sad news, I just stopped by. My heart breaks for them & Jake.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Jeannette, from your comment on Twitter and talking to you yesterday made me decide that the time was right for an entry. After all, I`d like to know if the beloved pet of one of my journal friends was ill, especially knowing how kind and understanding people can be in the virtual world that we inhabit. Support is everything and as it makes these difficult times easier to bear. Jake seems somehow serene, if it is possible for a dog. I do know he is very happy and knows he`s much loved which is all I can hope for. Thanks again and I`ll be thinking of you tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteLove and Hugs

I feel so bad for them. Many of us have experienced the loss of dear pets....it's never easy. My heart goes out to them....Linda in Washington
ReplyDeleteI'll go over to sandra's and say some words. A pet is such an important part of our familiy. I'm glad Jake has sandra and the rest of the family.
ReplyDeleteHi, I haven't been on my blog since July until yesterday. After I posted my blog and got my world up dated I have been checking out all the blogs that I keep up with. I'm sorry to hear about your friends dog. Tommy ( my boyfriend of the past 10 yrs after my husbands death ) was also killed in a tractor accident that I witnessed last nov.. I've been healing and putting my life back together once again. I understand about losing people I love and animals all to well. After Tommy was killed I had to watch 33 horses, pet chickens, roosters, peacocks, goats, a pig and many other pets have to go off the ranch that we spent everyday with. It has been a very sad 11 months. I see from your journal you are doing great. I loved catching up on the last few months with you. I hope you have a wonderful fall season and the holidays that are all coming our way. Love Judy
