The photoframe at the top of this posting was a present from Nathan and Daniel. You do not see yourself changing that much until you compare old and new photos!!
We had the most beautiful arrangement of roses, carnations and other flowers which you can see in the photograph of myself on my own. Dean and Becky also bought us a beautiful lead crystal vase inscribed from themselves and the boys and a Caithness paper weight with Ruby Wedding on it.
Mike gave me a ruby and diamond pendant with matching earrings and a separate set of ruby earrings. We also had the helium balloons. It was sad we did not get cards from some of our relatives but they all live in places where the snow has been horrendous so probably could not get out to post anything.
Yes, it was a day tinged with sadness but we made the most of it. I lost count of the Christmas stories that the boys told me. They were excited with the Christmas lights we had put up. Much subdued this year but we have done the lounge and conservatory and the 5th has always been our switch on day.
Now it is back to reality. I should be hearing from the Coroner about the certificate then we can start to make the arrangements.
Thank you for all your good wishes.
Love Jeannette xx
What a lovely frame and flowers too. Your gifts all sound and look wonderful. 40 years is cause for celebration for sure. I'm glad you got to spend some time with your family too. Your grandsons are looking so grown up now as it's been awhile since I've seen pictures of them. What handsome boys they are and I'm sure they are a delight to have around too. I hope your holiday season only gets brighter and merrier. It will be good to have arrangements and all done for your brother. Lots of Love and Hugs to you both!
ReplyDeleteHow happy you both look ,and gorgeous flowers ,Many more Happy Healthy years together ...love Jan xx
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos! happy you had a good day despite everything. may you have many more..
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures Jeannette...two beautiful people, inside and out! Congratulations again~in this day & age not many make it to their 40th. Dec 6th would have been my 41st if my husband would have chosen to stick it out rather than run off with my best friend years ago. And that behavior seems to be a sign of the times. I'm so happy for you two~still in love after 40 years. Linda in western Washington
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing these lovely photo's. The boys look so good, I am pleased that they kept you amused..How wonderful after 40 years to be so blessed with a loving family. I have never seen a frame such as the one the boys had for you, such a good idea to glance at yourselves then and now !!
ReplyDeleteI am praying that the corner cerificate will be ready very soon and arrangments can be finally made for your dear Brothers funeral.
God Bless

Oh you two look really good in the photo's..I am sorry that I do not get over here to read as much as I did. The boys have grown so much..adorable too. I have been so involved with my sister and her fight to save her husband from throat cancer, trying to help her stay sane while she does everything possible for him. We are hopeful and praying for a good outcome. People from J-land are collecting into a group on FaceBook, Guido is involved lots of people reconnecting...wish you would consider joining Facebook..don't have to play the silly games its just a good way to converse with one another in a simple way..love you..Sandi
