R.I.P.

My brother, Geoffrey F. passed away this afternoon at 5 p.m. It was sudden and unexpected as although he had been ill for a long time, he had only gone into hospital for a period of five days for treatment to his legs. Yesterday we were told he was doing very well and would be home on Friday.
So it has come as a terrible shock. This now leaves me as the last remaining member of my original family and it is a horrible feeling.
Geoff and I had a stormy relationship on and off all my life but we had become closer in the last year and when all is said and done, he was my brother and it is true that blood is thicker than water.
His suffering is now over. God rest his soul and grant him eternal peace.
Goodbye, my brother.

  9. Jeannette,
My sincere condolences on your loss, and wish you and the family every strength in coming to terms with it. I cannot begin to imagine what a terrible shock it must be, made worse by the fact that you are the last of the siblings left. I said that I wish you strength, but I really do mean that.

Thinking of you at this difficult time,

    Guido

  17. Sorry your holiday will be saddened by the passing of your brother. Yes, as each one departs, those remaining feel a little more alone. I felt the presence tonight of my sister who passed over 20 years ago, so once your brother has recovered, you may feel him with health recovered in another form. Always glad to hear from you, even though the occasion is sad.

  34. We are saddened and shocked by the sudden passing of Uncle Geoff. May he rest in peace free from suffering and pain. We will always remember the way he would find somthing funny until he was almost consumed with hysterical laughter, his feet stamping up and down with tears of mirth streaming down his face. Treasured memories. Love Becky, Dean, Nathan & Daniel x

  38. Oh, Jeanette..I am so sorry to hear about your brother. Losses such as this are very hard to bear, but please know that you have many, many people who think about you and care about you, even if we are separated by many miles. When I lost my Joe it was everyone's kindness that helped me through it ( I am still going through it)I don't blog too much but my email is sdoscher458@aol.com if you need to chat or anything...love you Sandi

  40. Sorry I'm late in leaving my condolences Jeannette. It must be hard for you, especially at this time of year. Just remember the happy times you all shared. It's always hard to be the last of the family left, I went from being the youngest to being the only one left, it's an empty feeling. I hope you're feeling better healthwise now. Jeannette xx
