This is Becky writing. Mum is sorry that she cannot post pictures of the finished porch at this time.
Her sciatica and bad knee have unfortunately not improved and the Doctor had to be called out today. He has put her on three medications which hopefully will start to deal with the problem. Naturally he gave her a full examination first and feels certain that the pain in her leg and back are definitely caused by pressure on the sciatic nerve.
Her knee however is another matter and unconnected. When and if the pain dies down she has to attend the hospital for x-rays to her lower spine, right hip and right knee.
The Doctor feels that the sciatica should clear up given time but it is likely that the problem with the knee is caused by damage such as a torn ligament and will want further treatment probably at the hospital. Depending on the results of the x-rays the Doctor will take decisions then as to the next steps to be taken i.e. referral to the orthopaedic unit.
Naturally she cannot sit at the computer which is making her very low as this is her window on the world and her way of keeping in touch.
She will be back as soon as she can but if it does mean any hospitalisation in the future then Mum has asked me to keep you updated.
I know that you will all be sending out your good wishes and prayers for her speedy recovery. She is very depressed and unhappy at this time as I am sure you can all imagine.
She sends you all her love.
Please send my love to your mum Becky and be sure that she will continue to be included in my prayers. Thank you for letting us all know what has happened as I would have worried if I hadn't heard anything. I hope she soon feels better and isn't hospitalised as I know how much she will hate that. Eileen xx
