A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words

Photobucket

We had a lovely time with the boys yesterday. They chatter all the time and it is fun to hold proper conversations with them now.

We did a lot of writing and drawing. They wanted me to write all their friends' names and also family on the white board. They wanted "Grand-dat" as Daniel calls Mike, to draw them a house and he did a good one complete with car on the drive and trees. They were delighted. I had to draw an Elephant, the sun, flowers etc. Nathan wrote his name and Daniel's. They did jigsaws and Daniel is amazingly fast at them. He never uses the picture to obtain hints, he just does them.

"Grand-dat" played ball with Daniel in the hall and Jesse tried to join in so he had to be put out in the sun room. There were lots of cuddles and smiles. They come out with the most amusing remarks.

Eventually Daniel said "Nana, I am so very very tired." It is always very very with Daniel. So, I gave them their milk which they always have at bedtime. Nathan has banana flavour and Daniel has chocolate. Daniel asked for more and naturally we gave him some. He polished it all off with gusto.

They knew that Mummy and Daddy were going to pick them up quite late but there was no problem about them sleeping in our bed. In they got, Daniel wanted to sleep on my side. I told them to sleep tight, God bless, love you. I got the reply "God bless, love you Nana". Within five minutes they were both fast asleep.

They did not wake even when Daddy put their coats on and carried them to the car. So, they fell asleep here and woke up this morning at home.

Two very happy and contented little boys and two very happy Grandparents!

Have a happy Sunday, dear friends and readers.

  16. Yes, they look very precious. My visits to my Grandmother K were so treasured. She was the epitome of a loving grandmother to me. I always will have in mind a picture of her coming in the room with her lamp when my sister and I fell out of bed and started crying. She helped us up and tucked us back in with nary a scolding word. Funny how the picture of the lady with the lamp stays in my mind even now. We have along memory for love, and I am sure your little grandkids will have those memories of you and grand dad.

  21. Ahhhh they are so sweet! Isn't it fun being a grandparent, you can play with them, give them chocolate milk and then they go home with mom & dad. I love it! I have a scrap book of all the early pictures my grand kids made for me. I cherish it....Linda in Washington

  24. It is always so nice to read stories about kids and their grandparents. We have so much to share with them and when we live close it is not so hard.
I always say, "if I had known grandkids were so much fun, I would have had them first" NOW I might not have made that statment at ALL time on the recent family holiday.
Raising kids is NOT an easy job and we need to pray for our kids as they take on this task.

Love and blessings to you an Mike
