A SPECIAL BEAR

Perhaps a little scruffy now but not surprising as she has been dragged from pillar to post.
My daughter bought her for me the day I left the breast unit with tears streaming down my face having just being diagnosed with cancer. She was to be my mascot.  She went into hospital with me and waited on my bed whilst I had surgery.  She remained on my bed when I returned home and the district nurses came for two weeks to change the dressing.  When I had to have fluid drained she again went with me to the hospital and then every day for 30 days of radiotherapy.
Since then she has been to every mammogram and every appointment with my oncologist and my surgeon.

I was at the breast unit this morning.  It will be six years in March - six years of uncertainty and worry it would return.  Today was my last visit, I got the all clear and have officially been signed off.  Honey was there with me as always.  She is one special bear and I will keep her always.

  2. I'm so happy to hear you're clear now Jeannette! Well done Honey for going through it with you and being a very lucky mascot! Now you can really enjoy the new year with Mike and Honey! Bless you all. It's sad that we're no longer all together on J-Land. Most of us are on Facebook now and until I retire I don't have time to post on Blogger. Take care Jeannette. Fro the other Jeannette! xx

    1. I still need prayer Linda as the strain of those years plus loohing after my brother and his sudden death triggered arthritis just as it did with my dad - shock I mean so I can only get around on a frame or if I have to go out use a wheelchair
