Missing You

It is so long since I posted and I have been missing you all so much.

However, I have such problems that I now go for days without using my computer at all.

I now not only have arthritis in my knees but it has spread to my shoulders, elbows and hands, particularly the right hand. As I am right-handed this gives me so many problems. Some days my fingers are so swollen that I can hardly bend them and I am in constant pain with my body.

I did get my four year all clear from the breast unit but this has been marred for me by the way I have become. My doctor reckons it was triggered off by stress. I am very depressed and feel that I am turning into a cripple and I fear for the future.

None of it is helped by the fact we cannot seem to sell my brother's house, the solicitors bills are enormous and growing by the day. We have sold twice and both times the buyers have backed out. We are now on the third attempt.

My lower back is really my biggest problem as some days I cannot straighten and the pain is dreadful and Mike has to help me in and out of bed. I need to get that sorted before I have my knees done. I will be contacting my doctor to get a referral to a back specialist.

The last few months have been a living hell and I cannot tell you how much I miss my computer, commenting on your journals and adding to mine.

So I do not know when I shall be back posting regularly but I hope and pray that day will come. In the meantime, please hold me in your thoughts and pray for the proper help for me and vast improvements in my pain and activity levels.

Like I said, I miss you all. I wish you all the best and hope life is being kind to you. I wish it would start being kind to me.

Love Jeannette

  2. I was thinking about you this week and wondering how you and Mike were doing. I am so sorry that your health is not doing well. I made an entry in my blog yesterday for the first time in several months. Ken is loaded down with some life threatening problems and I of course have this ongoing back problem.
Sending up prayers that you will get better soon.
    Love,
    Helen

  3. Jeannette, it is really good to see you back on posting. I realise that the arthritis is playing havoc with your joints, but I would like to encourage you to post as much as you can, if only to "write things out of your system"; get it off your chest. I hope your brother's house will get sold on the next attempt, and wish you and Mike well through the upcoming warm weather down your way.

  10. Oh Jeannette, I am so sorry to hear this. I too have that nasty arthritis in my hands but keep on pounding away on the keyboards & doing the necessary chores in the house as well in the yard. I take two Ibuprofen every morning and then a couple Tylenol in the afternoon. That seems to help a little with the pain & discomfort (at least I've convinced myself that it helps). I've considered gettin a warm wax pot to dip my hands in. I tried it at a friends house once & it seemed to make them feel better. Since I don't have a dishwasher, I do my dishes by hand & the warm water also brings some comfort. Sending my prayers and good thoughts your way....be happy my friend. You are loved!

  12. I am so so pleased to hear from you Jeanette, even if the news is not so good arthritis wise but certainly good news cancer wise so I rejoyce in that...It is hard to keep going when you feel so poorly but it might just help to pop in and out to see how we are all doing. My back has ben playing me up as well and worse still is my stump does not like this warm weather and if I try to walk just a wee bit it is on teh verge of breaking down and I never wantthat to happen....never mind it's summer and the sun is shining so I will put on my smiley face and keep going... I do hope that the Dr. is keeping you going with good medication, such as morphine patches etc..
Love for now God Bless Sybil xxx

  17. Sorry to hear about your problems Jeannette. I know the pain of arthritis well. I have it in my spine, hips, knees, hands and feet. I'm frightened to stop work as sometimes when you stop regular activity it becomes worse. I do hope the doctor can do something for you to relieve it, I know it's more difficult for you with diabetes and you can't take a lot of drugs that would help you. Good luck selling your brothers house. Love Jeannette xx

  18. jeannette, guido posted on CALL FOR SUPPORT on facebook that you were in the dumps. i am so sorry i have been so inattentive to you and your blog. i have gotten so wrapped up in taking care of my fiance and living 180 miles from my home, i forget there are others out there. i am troubled to hear you are having these latest health concerns. i know God in His infinite wisdom has a plan, but we as mere mortals lose patience and sometimes hope and faith, waiting on that plan to come to fruition. be patient...keep up your faith, and continue to hope....HIS WILL will be done in your life, and it can only be GOOD. HE also has the right buyer for your brother's house. my prayers and thoughts are with you now and always. and i am so happy to hear of the 4th year anniversary....congratulations. hugs for you my friend.....♥♥♥♥♥♥

I have 3 crushed discs and it also helps with that.I take 2 in the morning and three at night. But you take whatever amount helps you. I hope you try this for a month and see if it makes a difference. Many HUGS!!

  22. I pray there will be an answer for you to feel better and soon. I'm glad you were able to let us know about your condition. I have a blood condition now and John has Macular Degeneration but we amble along and are able to get along as long as we get enough rest and so far we do that.

  23. Dear Jeannette
I am sorry to read of your distress and pain. Like you I am recovering from breast cancer. I finished my anti cancer pills in May. Since then my aches and pains have diminished a lot! I was taking Arimidex initially, but the pain it caused in my muscles and joints was unbearable, I needed a quality of life, so I asked for another type of pill. Tamoxifen was suggested but then my oncologist suggested Femara (Letrozole). This still gave me pain in my joints and muscles but it was more bearable. I am now recovering from most of the aches and pains since finishing taking them. Instead of aches being there all the time I am only suffering occasionally. Chronic pain is so disabling, I know. Only another year to go with your treatmenet and then hopefully you will be in remission fully like me and then the pain will be behind you too. The side effects of these pills are certainly not funny. Are they? Some days I dreaded putting my feet on the floor first thing.
I wish you well. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
Take care and stay in touch.
    Jeanie xx

  24. Oh, Jeanette...I knew something was wrong when you didn't post. I am keeping you in my prayers daily...I know how much pain can defeat you, it really depresses you. I keep on fighting it too and I know you are a fighter.
There are medications of sorts out there, even ones that a diabetic can use. (By the way I only found out one month ago I am now a diabetic (dam it) My Mom has type 1 so I knew my odds were not good. She also has severe arthritis it affects her hands badly...I started taking an aspirin a day for the last 25 years and that has seemed to ward it off for me. I do know that even if it hurts you have to move otherwise joints can freeze up and that makes it so much worse. I tell people myself that I am "a work in progress" and I try so hard to find joy, humor, laughter in my world...you need that too. I hope and pray that something will ease your pain and that you will be able to write again in your blog. I missed it and you very much. I finally started writing again, it was hard after losing Joe...but it actually feels good especially writing poetry....I'm giving you a virtual hug
    (((Jeanette))) be well, love Sandi

  29. It was good to finally see a new post from you, but I'm so sorry your health issues are so numerous and severe at the moment. I can only hope that you will find a specialist who can help you. And I also hope this time your brother's house sale will go through - that would, at least, relieve you of some of your stress. Linda in DC
