An Award

I have been honoured to receive an award from Kbear of kbear's journey. Thank you so much my friend. I have it on my sidebar.

Now, I have to pick five people to pass it on to. How difficult is that!!!! So many of you I count as friends so, my feelings are that you should ALL have this award but I have to stick to the rules which will also leave people that you can select as worthy of receiving it.

Rules
1. Mention who picked you with a link back to their journal.

2. Tell your readers how your journey into blogging began. Be as verbose or shy as you like.

3. Pick 3-5 fellow bloggers whom you adore and write what exactly it is you value about that person or their blog. This is a chance to really appreciate your blog friends who have been there with and for you through thick & thin.

4. Let the blessed winners know they have been awarded.

Well, I came to blogging by accident. I had been doing lots of research on my family tree and needed a break from it. I was idly skipping through various things on AOL when I saw the word "Blogs" mentioned. I had no idea what that meant, I had never heard of a blog so I went to have a look and viewed a couple. I thought to myself that I would have a go at that. So I did an entry and sat back and waited for something to happen - nothing. Another two entries - nothing. On my fourth entry I wrote that I was giving up, it was obvious that nobody was interested but it had been worth a try. I went back the following day to find I had comments!!! People telling me not to give up, they had been reading and enjoying it. That was five and a half years ago and I am still at it and hope to be for a long time.

Now it is time for me to pick some people. Like I said, you are all dear to me and I hate to pick and choose but here are the ones that I would like to give this award to:-

Guido of Atlantic Lines. He is such a regular contributor. He always has something to say and it is usually interesting or incisive. He posts pictures and stories about where he lives in Stornaway, snippets of news, his take on world affairs and so much more. He blogs on a daily basis.

Morton of caring and sharing Morton does not write too often due to health problems which he bears with great courage. He is also the full-time carer to his elderly Mother. However, he is always supportive of others and when he does do an entry, it is always a pleasure to read.

Antonella of Living abroad I love her tales of her homeland, Italy and the photos she posts of that country and the customs she writes about. She also tells about her home town of York, a city I know well often accompanied by photographs.

Sugar of SUGAR'S SWEET SPOT Sugar suffers from several health problems and has recently undergone surgery. Yet she always manages to write something uplifting, makes beautiful graphics on her graphics site, the link to which can be found on her journal. She makes memorial tags for those blogger friends we have lost and also for departed pets. Although she finds it difficult to sit at the computer sometimes, she never lets people down.

Last but not least I am being naughty and picking two others. Firstly Pam of WHAT'S NEW AT MY HOUSE Pam is another daily blogger. Her writings are truly inspirational and I read what she has to say every single day. She has often lifted me when I have been deep in the pit and felt like giving up.
I could not leave out my friend Sandra of Tales From Sandra`s Scribbles Sandra and I have been friends almost since the beginning and we have become friends in real life as well. She and her hubby have been down to visit us, we exchange telephone calls and e-mails. Sandra has also been a tower of strength to me and I like to think I have helped her when she has needed it.

So, I have picked six people I deem worthy. Please do not be disappointed if you do not see your name mentioned. Like I said, picking is very hard but I know I have regular and loyal readers and you are all my friends. I did not make the rules and have already bent them a little. I enjoy your journals every bit as much as I enjoy the others.

Remember my friends you need only pass on to 3-5. I am happy to give you this award which is:-

Photobucket

Enjoy and please do pass it on, if only to one person, a blog that really appeals to you, a blog you love reading. Make someone happy. Let them know they are appreciated. We are a small community now and should support one another.

  4. You have truly honored me with this award. I will post it on my blog but find it so hard to choose as you did 5 or 6. Every blog I read seems to be the best there is. I've been reading yours along time now and consider you a friend for sure. I'll be linking the award to you and wondering who I could pick. Maybe I should pick the ones I've read the longest. There are still some out there. Thank you!

ty so much for this lovely award. so thoughtful of you to think of me. & what lovely words you used re my blog & me. ty.
i humbly accept this delightful award. it may be awhile before i actually can get time to do a post for it. as with Christmas approaching, & the fact that i've been feeling bad lately. i'm having severe back pain, even when up for only a few mins. just posted an entry that took me almost a week to complete... what with only being able to write a few lines at a tome then saving as draft. also, want to get out monkee's dec post this next week. but, i promise i'll do a proper post to acknowledge this award, but it will take time.
    ty again.
    have a nice wkend...

  9. You`re right Jeannette, There is no comment from me though I can`t think why it didn`t save even though it said it had...sigh.

What a I roughly wrote was thank you so much for the award, its an honour especially since I don`t post very often now. Now I shall have to think of the people who I can pass on this award too, its so hard to think of an actual favourite as there are so many that are deserving of it. Thanks again for thinking of me. :o)

    Love and Hugs
