UP AND RUNNING AGAIN

Photobucket

Well, we had to get a new computer in the end. It was installed yesterday and, at the moment, I am trying to feel my way around this Vista system.
I must say that, so far, I prefer the old XP but then I guess I was used to it.

The older you get the harder it is to get your head around new things but I have the basics on so the rest can wait. This is my second attempt at posting this. My first effort came out in a most peculiar fashion and no attempts at editing could put it right. I do not know whether Blogger are experiencing problems but my web tracker has written twice telling me they have been unable to connect to this journal site. That has not happened before but the first time they wrote it was on the old computer so it is not the new one causing problems.

A lovely sunny day today but very cold. My bug is much better but I am far from one hundred percent. I remember how long it took Becky to shake it off and she is much younger than myself, of course, and with no medical problems.

Well, I have been messing around on here all day. I keep trying to cut down my computer time but what with all the problems on the old one and now setting up this new one........well you have all been there.

Hopefully, in a couple of days I will be able to catch up with you all again my dear friends and readers. Now I really need to go and do something active.

  4. Hi Jeannette, I`m glad you are much better now and have your new computer too. I have Vista and I didn`t find too much of a difference really, in fact I actually prefer one or two things about it. It`s really cold here too but with the sun and a breeze I`ve managed to get a couple of loads od washing dry outside. Take care. :o)

  5. Glad that you got a new computer. Last year I got a new one with Vista but didn't like it so we took it back and I ordered a new one where they build what you want into one and I had the XP put on it. I probably would have kept the Vista but we could never get it to work on the wireless router we had. Glad that you are feeling a lot better. Hugs, Helen

  8. I have two friends that are on Vista...one hates it and one said it was o.k.

I personally like XP. I know Microsoft announced they are coming out with Windows8 to replace the Vista. That was on the News.

  10. My husband has Vista, I have XP. My sister has Vista. Where my computer is concerned, I'm scared of change, lol. Because I'm computer challenged. I hope you enjoy your new computer and get used to the changes. Blessings!

Enjoy your sunny day, in our warm South Carolina, USA area we got 6 inches of the white fluffy stuff. Looks like winter wonderland out there, so beautiful...nice to enjoy it without having be in it though. Glad you are feeling better, I've been dealing with a bug for a good week and a half, no fun.

  15. Doc has Vista while I have XP and so far I prefer my older XP! But if that was all I had I would get used to his I am sure. Seems like a new computer system always takes getting used to, and something happens and you don't know why. It is always nice to hear from you, Jeannette, even though I understand why you have had to cut back. Perfectly.

Congrads on getting a new system :) Vista is a little bit hard to get used to. Personally I didn't care for it and went back to XP. It's just so simple...LOL

  27. I have been reading about the work being done with trees in your front yard, and other matters you are currently involved with. You are keeping busy I can appreciate. I have only been reading about Vista and it's replacement to come from Windows. I spent so much money on my computer in 2004,December, that I don't want to think about another one. I bought a $200 extended warranty, which I did not need for my Dell Computer. I can tell you that my Physical Therapy the last 2 weeks has been helping me with back and hip pain. The exercise's I am to do regularly are stretching out my back/hip muscles and I am seeing improvement. I hope your health is doing as well as possible and that you will start getting over the current problems. I enjoyed reading the comments and have learned some things about computer stuff. mark
