Snow Pictures Photo Entry

Photobucket

This follows on from my last entry when I posted a couple of photographs of the snow in our area.

We still have snow lying on the ground, mostly on grassy areas. Yesterday everything was frozen solid, the roads were like glass and the schools remained closed.

Mike took a tumble yesterday on the way to get our newspapers. He has a nasty bruise on the back of his shoulder and another on his arm but, apart from being stiff, he is o.k.

Today the children are back at school although more snow is forecast for tomorrow or Friday but it is unclear, at the moment, whether it will be in our area.

The squirrel was in Becky's garden and not ours. We used to have them but have not seen any in a very long time.

Right now the sun is shining brightly but it is very cold. Being indoors is the best place!

I hope that you have enjoyed the photographs. Stay warm, dear friends and readers.

P.S. A comment was left that the snowman is a bit skinny. Well, I think he is great (he is still there). After all the boys are only four and three and have never built one before. They only needed help with the height as they wanted him tall. Anyway, snowmen can come in all shapes and sizes so why not a skinny snowman????

  9. I think the snowman is a great jolly old fellow. They always look so cheerful out in the snow. I noticed a couple on my way to work today. We have had another great snow storm and it is still snowing. Due to shoveling out the drive and bad roads I was 1 and 1/2 hours late for work today. It is still snowing...
Take care and keep warm! I've got my layers on as usual. 'On Ya'-ma

  16. I read the comment that someone thought the snowman was too skinny, just as I was going to write that it was the healthiest looking snowman I have seen in a long time. All in the eyes of the beholder! I thought about you and your stories of history as I was reading a novel called "Wild Irish" by a good writer, about the last years of Queen Elizabeth's reign and the war over Ireland. I even dreamed about you last night! This novel had such an effect on me. Gerry

  19. I was going to write that that was the healthiest looking snowman I had seen in a long time. All in the eyes of the beholder. I was reading a historical novel (Wild Irish) about the last years of Queen Elizabeth's reign and the wars in Ireland and I dreamed about you last night. I am sure that I was connecting you with history. And probably even picking up that you were posting. I am starting to get psychic now about journalists. So I enjoyed seeing these delightful photos.

Awwwwwww the pictures brought back wonderful memories Jeannette of my four children when they were young. They always seemed to be laughing when they played in the snow.Seems all children love it doesn't it? The boys did a fantastic job and I love the snowmans hat LOL!!My daughter one year couldn't find her trainers one morning when she woke and my Grandaughter(aged 6 at the time )had sneaked them out that early evening into the garden. She had made the snowman with feet on and put them on him Heeee.I once sent the pic of it to your friend Sandra to show Roman..Loved all the pics and well the squirrel how lovely to see him around.I do hope Mike heals quickly. In my prayers.Take Care God Bless Kath xx

  27. Jeannette, the snowman is not too skinny, he's right nice! The boys did an excellent job. The pictures make me freezing cold. It is snowing here right now, and it has been snowing off and on for months, with snow on the ground nonstop, all the time, for months. Please Spring, come!!! But yes, it does look so beautiful in your pics, and I know the boys had a wonderful time!

  29. Hi Jeannette, I think Nathan and Daniel have made a smashing snowman and it never occured to me that he is skinny. He looks great and I can see they both throughly enjoyed building him. Poor Mike, I`m glad he`s ok, its all to easy to fall over now the snow is melting.

    Love and Hugs

  32. I'll bet the boys had so much fun making snowmen. We have a little hill across the road in the park and when we get any snow the kids ride the sleds down till it is bare.
I have been real laZy and stayed in my PJ's for days.

  37. I love that snowman and I especially love those beaming, proud faces of its creators. Great pictures; they remind me of what it looked like here a few days ago. Hope you are all well.

  39. Happy Valentine's Day Jeannette I am glad that Mike is OK following his fall during the snow. It is just cold (39F) at 4 p.m. Not like January weather in the 20'sF. My hip arthritis acted up for 2 weeks this year, so an X-ray and physical therapy. It is doing well now and I am walking with Salty again every day. I enjoyed all the snow photo's and the boys with their snowman. mark

  40. OMGOSH I am LOVING that snowman. They did a wonderful job. You know we have gotten snow here, but not the right kind for snowman building and my grandson has yet to make his first snowman. I keep praying that it will be a good time before our season is over for just one and he wants to make a snow angel.
    Take care, Chrissie
