Gorillas In The Mist? - No, Collies On Ice!

Four below zero, freezing fog, the main part of the lake was totally frozen, the poor birds could not find food, the dogs expected to jump in for a swim. Jesse was very surprised. Jack did not like it at all as you will have seen.

From this freezing cold corner of South-East England, have a happy weekend, dear friends and readers.

  1. Brrrrrrrr cold is right. Here, we're dealing with record rainfalls (flooding, etc). Is there somewhere where it's 70-75* with a slight breeze all the time? If so let's go there. Linda in soggy Washington state

  7. To think you almost didn't come back...what would we have done without you and these lovely film clips...Glad though that the dogs didn't go to far onto the lake..Two dogs here in Wiltshire have drowned this week... Loved these wee ducks as well looked as if they were speaking to each other saying "this is a rum do..no nice swimming "
Much Love and Thanks Sybil xx

  8. I bet his teeth were chattering - how cute!
This was so much fun to watch....I really liked it when they crossed the falls. Poor birds indeed, they sure were looking for something to eat. That looks like a fabulous place to walk the dogs. Stay warm...spring is just around the corner (I keep telling myself this!!).

  9. Hi Jeannette,

Its much colder here again today too though we were lucky to escape the fog. It DID come down last night but had almost cleared by the time I left for work. Our shop is absolutely freezing but the many layers of clothing I wear keep me nice and warm and its only my fingers that feel cold. The only thing is I look a bit like the michelin man...lol!

    Love Sandra xxxx

  13. Brrrrrrrrrrr! And, to think I keep wanting to move back to New England after being here in Florida for 20 years....I may have to think about that some more after all the bloggers talking about the cold, snow, sleet, ice.

I miss my roots, not so much the weather.

    Hugs, Rose

  14. Well, that was a nice touch of England even if it was teeth chattering time. I wondered if that was you out there filming. It still looks very pretty.

  19. The video made me feel even colder than I am! Lol! The mist made it look an eerie magical place. I can't imagine why Jesse and Jack would want to go swimming in this cold! My two old border collies used to love frozen ground, they'd run and slide along on their backsides, it always made me laugh! It was 17F here last night, I wish spring would arrive! Jeannette xx
