Child Abuse - Update

Photobucket

Further information has come to light since my posting yesterday. Judging by the reaction I got, I am sure that you will be delighted to know that the mother of baby P is, in fact, in prison. All three of them will be sentenced next month.

We can only go by what we read in the newspapers but one has stated today, through a source at the jail, that she was bragging about what had happened to her baby!

She has given birth to another child since then, a little girl and says she fully expects to be home by Christmas. She wants to be re-united with her daughter. She was being allowed supervised visits with the child until the other prisoners became so angry, and security became such an issue, that she has been prevented from having any contact with the child. She also has three other children. I assume that they are in care or with other members of the family.

A police source has stated, regarding all three prisoners - "None of them appear to be worried or sorry about what happened to the baby. They all feel very sorry for themselves but have not shown any remorse at all."

Well, you know my feelings about this subject and what I hope will happen to them. She should have no further contact with her children - ever. All of them should spend a very long time in jail. I will keep you informed of what sentences they are given in December.

Today the papers are full of another case, that of Shannon M. This is a case of a different type but still amounts to abuse. Shannon's mother , who has several other children, together with the help of her partner's uncle decided to "stage" a disappearance of the child. She telephoned the police to report her missing. She made tearful appeals on t.v. for the girl to come home or for anyone holding her to release her and to give themselves up.

The police search for this nine year old girl cost over three million pounds, many volunteers joined in the search, thousands of properties were checked, cars stopped. Over three weeks later, little Shannon was found in the home of the partner's uncle. He had picked her up from school and told her he was taking her to the fair. He took her to his home. There she was tethered by the neck so she could not escape and fed drugs to keep her quiet. Her mother knew this all the time.

Their motive - money. They knew that, as in nearly all cases of missing children, a reward would be offered. They wanted the £50,000 that was put up. What sort of a mother would put her nine year old child through this? Although the little girl was not sexually assaulted, not beaten nor starved, this is still child abuse - and child abuse for sheer greed. I hope they throw the book at those two as well.

It always saddens me that so many women in the world would like a child and will spend any amount of money and go through endless treatments to have one, when people like this, who have been blessed, can treat their children in such a fashion.

I do not want all my entries to be doom and gloom but I did want to update you all on the first story.

Anyway, I have a couple of new photos to share with you today. In the first one, Jesse has his ears up for a change. Jack is his usual photogenic self, he loves having his picture taken.

Off to make a phone call now. Becky phoned and I had to tell her I was in the middle of a journal entry. I told her I would not be long so, no doubt she is waiting for me to ring her. After that, it will be time for lunch.

Until the next time, dear friends and readers.

  1. I am so glad to hear that horrible mother is in jail. I wouldn't even give her the title "mother". She is a breeder and a monster.
    The dogs are awfully cute!

  2. Oh this is horrible that people treat one another, particularly one's own child, so terribly.

Love the doggies, Jesse and Jack! And I love that pretty colorful rug that Jesse is sitting on. Those colors are pleasing to the eye. Have a good day.

  7. Wow, what mother could do this kind of thing?? They do not deserve the title of mother nor do they deserve to have their other children or children in the future. This breaks my heart. So sad. Greed is an awful thing. How can a parent not love a child, especially a mother??? So sad. Thanks for the update, Jeannette. This entry makes me want to go call my daughter and grandsons... Love, Val xox

  12. I won't dirty your journal with the expressions I would like to say about that mother & her cohorts. She should be sterilized and locked up for the rest of her days....that is being generous in my opinion.

How awful for a mother to allow her child to be tied up & drugged. You are right about the fact many women go through horrendous procedures and pay big money to have a child to love & cherish.

    Thanks for the update.

  14. Too true they want locking up and the key throwing away. They want more than that in my opinion Jeannette as I stated yesterday. The Shannon Mathews case That family only lived about a couple of miles from me when this happened and I knew from the onset she would be lying the first time I saw her on the news saying she was missing. My blood boils with anger at these animals.Lovely pictures of the doggies..They are beautiful.I Hope you managed to speak with Becky after you posted LOL!!Take Care God Bless Kath xx

  15. I am so sickened by what happened to that girl in the last case I almost vomited. If someone were to say that she wasn't abused, they'd have to be out of their mind. Not only was she abused just by going through what she went through, she suffered other abuse as well. Such as -- she will now have a lifetime of torment remembering what happened to her, and will be forever scarred by the memories. Another thing that will scar her, and this is abuse also -- she will come to realize and forever know that her mother not only didn't care for her, but despised her, by treating her in such a manner. Not only was she not protected by her parents as one ought to be, she was put into danger, and led over to be tortured... She will be confused always, wondering about her worth, because her mother did this to her.

This Mom (if you can call her that) belongs in prison... so she cannot hurt the girl again, or have any other children to hurt them also. Let us know what her sentence is, as well as the other two involved -- her "partner", and his uncle.

I am glad that in the first cast, the mother did end up going to prison, and that all three subjects involved are in prison... It will never make the little child come back, but her mother will not be able to hurt another child, at least at this time. I believe her new baby should be kept from her, as well as the other children she has. I don't believe she should see any of them ever again. She is not showing remorse, so she should not be around her children or any of society's children...

  17. There are some really evil monstrous people out there. I've seen abused kids being brought to our hospital, it makes me so sick. These women should never be allowed to be near any children again, lock her up for good. Jeannette xx

  19. These parents must have some mental/drug/alcohol issues... I see it unfortunately a lot where I work. It's priorities. Their children come last on their list-it's all about "me" atitude, and it really is sickening! Some people really don't deserve kids. I hope none of these children go back to these monsters. Julie

  21. Jeannette, do you know what they should do to those three sadistic things. I cant call them human beings. They should go through what that baby went through. They should have their finger nails ripped off and the tops of their fingers cut off and their backs broken and made to live with it.

That poor little Shannon. How could a mother do that to her child. She drugged her too with travel sickness pills to keep her quiet. Awful!

I love the photos of your doggies!

hugs to you Love Laine xxx

  22. I do think those dogs look exactly as though they know they are looking into a camera! And they should be proud of themselves they look so good. Sad stories about the depths of depravity that people will sink to. I just finished "Cherie Blair." I found it most interesting.

  23. These kind of people are less than human, even less than animals. I hope they all get what they deserve. They should get the same kind of punishment they gave out to those children. Oh, the pain those children went through makes a person cry for them.
Jessee and Jack made very good photos. Hugs, Helen
